System settings:

For system settings, press the settings button.

A menu pops up with basic settings:

Language: Here you can select the language to use. At this moment only English and Dutch are implemented. But we are looking for volunteers to translate the text used in the Countdown to other languages.

Hide icons: selecting this checkbox hides most icons on the screen when the system is running. It is also possible to toggle between hide and unhide when the system is running by pressing the H key on the keyboard.

Use PC speaker for buzzer: When there is no external buzzer connected via the hardware switch box, this one is typically selected to hear the buzzer via the PC speaker.

Minutes / Seconds. To choose for minute notation or seconds notation.

By pressing the Save as startup settings button, the current selected setting will be used next time the program starts. This is including the competition system, timing, sequence, etc.

There are 24 predefined settings (scenarios). 12 are fixed. 12 are configurable.
      • The 12 fixed settings can be chosen by pressing the shift-F1 to shift-F12 buttons.
      • The 12 configurable settings can be chosen by pressing the F1 to F12 buttons.

The details of the predefined settings are visible when clicking the yellow arrow button.
Here it is also possible to store configurable scenarios.

Predefined settings:

The 12 fixed settings (scenarios)can be chosen by pressing the shift-F1 to shift-F12 buttons.
shift F1 FITA 1 archer per turn 1 turn per end [A]

shift F6 FITA 2 archers per turn 2 X 2 turns per serie. (Get arrows after every 2 turns). Typically used on long distances where 6 arrows are shot before getting the arrows. But in this case still 3 arrows in 2 minutes. [AB-CD-AB-CD]
shift F7 FITA 2 archers per turn 2 turns per serie shooting 6 arrows in a row in 4 minutes. So every serie has 6 arrows. Practice is only 1 serie of 6 arrows. [AB-CD]
shift F8 Individual finalround. (Alternating) Fixed time per arrow.
shift F9 Team Final round. (Alternating) Fixed time per end. Paused timing when other team is shooting.
shift F10 25m1P system with 4 archers on a target.
shift F11 25m1P system with 5 archers on a target.
shift F12 25m1P system with 6 archers on a target.

Changing the configurable settings is possible by configuring the correct competition system, timing and sequence. Click the settings button and click on the yellow arrow button (G) and press the button “save current settings as F… settings” at the location you want to store the current scenario.

Changing the Banner:

It is possible to change the banner on the bottom side of the screen by a different one. Including a logo.
Create a graphics file with the information you want to show and save it as ‘banner.bmp’ in the same directory as the archeryclock exe file. Advice is to use a picture with a size of 1000px X 130px. Or at least the same aspect ratio.

Put the information as much as possible to the bottom of the picture. Because the top part of the picture is partly overlapped with other information like A B C D.

When starting the countdown software, the file will be loaded and shown on the bottom of the screen. It is shown as a transparent picture which means the background color of the picture will be black like the rest of the screen.
